Sean P. Kelly, Providing Tile and Masonry Installation Services since 2004
Making your vision a reality.
Web Designer
I work for Contractors. This website exists as a calling card and resume hosting site.
I can provide you with an extensive set of skills.
I have experience in building out bathrooms from scratch. From framing to layout to precise finish work, as required.
I can also be called on to hang doors and windows, change lock cylinders, paint an entire building, build a deck with stairs, set up scaffolding, break a sweat on groundwork including grading and layout, repair rotted wood and broken up or cracked masonry to historic standards.
I am not a plumber or an electrician.
Open for new projects.

Curated Favorites
While Tile Setting is my favorite skill there are many things i can do professionally.
Masonry
You need someone who understands that masonry is built on a foundation. Stone and Brick are most often finish work. But being a mason means layout, grading, foundations, footers, and post holes. It also means proficiency in spackle and glues of all kinds.
Carpentry
While i am far from being a fine wood worker i have learned to do basic framing, window and door installation and replacement, trim work, cutting stair stringers, building decks to code, hardware choices, hanging cabinets, and all kinds of structural home repair and installation.
Painting and Other Offerings
How often are we called on to do things we used to hate doing? Learning patience was the gateway to taking on projects that used to frustate me. Now i have enough painting tools for a crew of three.
Working on Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs, for example, was a great way to learn about how water interacts with masonry, how to waterprooof masonry to plastic and metal, and i learned more about masonry repair then most people.
Gathering tools after learning to use them is a lifelong endeavor.
Basic plumbing and wiring skills make me useful to finish bathroom remodesl without waitng on real professionals sometimes.
Over the years i have been called upon to solve many problems. I have completed small jobs as a handyman and been involved in every level of historic renovations. I am a problem solver.
My great grandfather, Mortimer Kelly I, was an immigrant tile setter. I grew up with his tiled tables and other personal projects in our home. I saw some of his work in Manhattan, such as the origional floors of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. I ceredit him with teaching me the satisfaction of building things that might outlive myself.
It was Sensei Jerry who convinced me to take on masonry as a job and as a skill. He always said, "mastery of one thing makes mastering other things easier." And he also stressed that body and mind working together is the best way to stay in shape. And that shaving a moment or two off of repetative tasks adds up over time.
